Meditation for Mothers: Deepening Your Practice

October 25 - November 6, Friday mornings 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Explore the many ways that movement, meditation, breath and mantra can help you to slow down and connect to the stillness and sweetness within your life.

Each class will include movement, mantra, meditation, a period of deep relaxation, and time for discussion.

The “Deepening Your Practice” series of classes builds on the “Introduction to Shambhava Yoga™ Meditation” series by offering ongoing support for developing regularity with one’s practice and bringing meditation skills into daily life.  Through weekly group practice and sharing, mothers can deepen their commitment to regular practice within an atmosphere of gentle support. Participants will gain confidence and familiarity with the practices taught in the beginners’ series.  We will also explore new topics together,  including the Shambhava Yoga™ teachings related to surrender, gratitude, and devotion.   Anita will also share ayurvedic tips for supporting mental/physical/spiritual balance.  The classes will continue to actively support the unique needs and challenges of motherhood, along with the benefits of developing a meditation practice during the parenting years.

Each class will include 15-20 minutes of beginner-friendly hatha yoga, and the opportunity to gradually sit in silent meditation for longer periods of time.

If you love the idea of joining the class, but it just doesn’t work for your schedule, call us!  Anita can teach custom classes for groups of 6 or more mamas.

Each class incorporates a period of deep relaxation using restorative yoga poses.  Past class themes include:  “Breathe Mama!”,”Learning to let go more deeply,”  “Cultivating loving kindness and devotion,”  “Nourishing ourselves and our children through the power of Mantra,”  “Slow Motion Cures Commotion”, “Gratitude and Grace,” and “Simple Rhythms:  The Gifts of a Daily Routine.”

Previous participation in the “Introduction to Shambhava Yoga Meditation” series or workshop is suggested but not required.

Experience Calmness, Clarity and Joy in Parenting
This series is for mothers of all life stages (including pregnancy and mothers of adult children) who wish to begin or deepen their practice of meditation. Each class includes a simple hatha yoga warm up, meditation instruction, meditation practice, and time for questions and discussion. Classes will introduce students to the meditation practices and philosophy of Shambhava yoga, while highlighting the ways in which the practices can be brought into daily life to help us live and parent with more ease, clarity, and consciousness. Taught by Anita (Omkari) Stoll.
